Products

Q: What kind of products do you sell?

A: We offer a range of designer, vintage, artisan and luxury apparel items for women as well as accessories, jewelry, housewares and men’s apparel/accessories.

Q: Are your items new or second-hand?

A: All merchandise is second-hand unless described as “new with tags,” “new without tags” or “mint condition.” When appropriate, wear to second-hand items will be fully disclosed in the item description.

Q: Where do you source your inventory?

A: Inventory is purchased from a variety of sources including estate sales, flea markets, charity shops, thrift stores, consignment boutiques and online venues. We purchase no item for resale which we would be unwilling to offer as a gift to a friend.

Q: Are your items authentic?

A: Absolutely. Our Acquisitions Manager is in charge of authenticating apparel. Designer bags and other accessories will be authenticated through Entrupy.

Q: How do you determine pricing?

A: Generally, second-hand items are between 25-30 percent of estimated resale price based on current prices for comparable items. Mint condition/new with tags pieces are priced between 40-60 percent of retail price. There are exceptions: items that are fantastic but which have a small flaw are priced at a discount, and rare/amazing/vintage pieces are priced accordingly.

Q: I have allergies. Is there anything I should know?

A: Inventory is stored in a location with cats on the premises, though no animals are permitted in rooms where the merchandise is kept. No smoking is permitted.

Q: Do you sell fur or “exotic” leather products?

A: We do not sell new fur or exotic leather products, though we will occasionally offer a second-hand or vintage product like a 1950s coat with a mink collar, or 1940s reptile bag. We also cross-promote with local businesses who include such products in their own inventory, though we ourselves do not promote those specific products on the website. We are 100% in compliance with endangered species laws.

 

Fulfillment

Q: How soon after my order is placed do you ship?

A: Depending on time of day, either same day or next day for weekdays. Orders placed on the weekend or a holiday will be shipped on the next business day/weekday.

Q: Can I combine shipping for multiple purchases?

A: Absolutely.

Q: Do you ship outside of the United States?

A: Yes. There may be restrictions depending on the country (not allowed to import certain items into the country, not eligible for “first class” rate even if under 4 pounds, etc.)

Q. Will you mark my customs form “gift” to conceal that it’s a purchase?

A: No, that’s mail fraud and I’d put myself at risk for a gigantic fine and/or jail time.

Q: Which items are eligible for the “first class” rate?

A: Items weighing under 4 pounds, to eligible countries.

A: We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Diners Club, Elo, JCB and Venmo.
