Once upon a time on a rainy Monday, there was a photo/video shoot at Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst. It wasn’t so rainy that you heard the sound of thunder, but there was indeed a butterfly effect…sorry, I couldn’t resist. I am excited to report that my clothes and Selleria Veneta’s bags will soon be appearing in a Butterfly Productions video featuring musician/model/actress T$. Moses from Selleria Veneta got some great pictures of T over the course of the day, some of which can be seen in this post. Speaking of Instagram, my bio states up front that the website is about “fab stuff I sell and cool stuff I like.” At the end of the day, there’s only one wardrobe that can claim me as its sole mastermind and that’s my own. It’s no secret that I’ll go virtually anywhere I can find a good deal when I’m shopping secondhand, but I’m fortunate to have some really great boutiques within walking distance of my house.
*Gem https://shopgemjewelry.com Charming jewelry boutique which also carries gorgeous housewares, accessories and candles. And moisturizers! I’m obsessed with them this time of year, and the one I got at Gem smells ahhhmazing.
*Filoni: https://www.filoniwear.com Amazing collection of “art to wear” brands like Dress to Kill, Rundholz, Moyuru, Krista Larson and Crea Concept (to name only a small few.) Jewelry, accessories, and nifty housewares are also in abundance here. Bonus: the owner’s gorgeous Labradoodle might wander over and say hi if he’s at the shop. He’s a sweet boy.
*Manouche: https://manoucheshop.com Impeccably curated selection of brands like MJ Watson, Tara Jarmon, Two Danes and Pas de Calais. Their accessory game is on point: I got a great mask there, adjustable fit with a concealed, sewn-in frame along the top that lets you mold the mask to your face. I got a great lapis lazuli ring there in the summer, and I have a huge crush on the Inouitoosh animal motif scarf.
*Selleria Veneta: https://selleriaveneta.com/ Yes, yes, I know, I already mentioned them but wait, there’s more! Instead of hosting a multi-vendor holiday market like they’ve done previously, Cecilia and Moses are doing a series of trunk shows every Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00 until Christmas at their Oak Park boutique. I’ve been to all of them so far and scored some awesome skin care products and cute jewelry.
